Chairman's LetterIt all began with an accidental meeting at a high school reunion, a meeting with an old friend who worked in the graphic arts industry. After listening to my story of our industrial coatings business, he suggested that good coatings were needed in his industry - and some of our concepts might be adapted for paper substrates. He encouraged me to explore the opportunity, an opportunity that ultimately transformed the company. When we began, aqueous coating were in their infancy. They had to be applied off-line and dry-tapped, or applied with dampener coaters in-line for sheet-fed printing. Expirementation, hard work and persistence made it possible to develop viable products. Later, joining forces with a large printing firm, we refined a process for in-line web printing. For over a quarter of a century, Nicoat has continued these pioneering efforts. During that time, we dicovered that the right philosophy and approach makes a real difference, no matter what industry we serve. Together they get us the results we seek, time after time.
